Joris Ide is a manufacturer of steel construction products, including roofing, wall systems, and sandwich panels, supplying customers across Europe.

Challenge

Joris Ide's order processing involved a large and complex set of articles, making accurate article matching difficult. Teams also had to deal with recurring issues in customer data, delivery dates, and correctly identifying ship-to information, all while working through a high volume of incoming orders and certificates.

Solution

Tekst built a side panel that gives Joris Ide's team clear visibility into incoming orders, including a PDF viewer next to the data for easy review and adjustment. The side panel also uses a new way of processing variants, structured around a main product table with sub-variants for quantity, length, price, and unit of measure price, and includes additional fields for packing description and additional costs.

Tekst also set up the mailbox connection and read-only access needed for processing, and put the classification and extraction models in place. On the model side, Tekst achieved significant accuracy improvements for identifying ship-to information and interior plates, increasing from 25% to 70-80%, and reaching 90-100% for thickness and coating type. Tekst also resolved issues with customer data, delivery date discrepancies, and article matching between wall and roof products.

Result

With the side panel in place and article matching accuracy significantly improved, Joris Ide's team can process orders and certificates faster and with far greater accuracy, spending less time correcting customer data, ship-to details, and product matches.
