Gartner® names Tekst in Coolest Vendor Innovations in Process Intelligence

Gartner has named Tekst in its new report, Coolest Vendor Innovations in Process Intelligence (28 August 2026). The report recognises Tekst's Conversational Process Intelligence: turning emails, chats, documents and spreadsheets into structured operational data that AI can act on.

Enterprise AI has a context problem. Foundation models can reason, but they don't know how work actually gets done inside a company. That knowledge lives in email threads, unwritten rules and manual handoffs that no system of record captures.

What Gartner® recognised

Gartner® describes how critical operational knowledge sits in what it calls "conversational dark space": people's heads, email threads, support tickets and the paths AI agents take. To scale AI, the report argues, process intelligence has to evolve from passive analytics into a living layer of operational context.

The first trend Gartner names is unstructured signal capture: mining emails, chats and documents in real time, instead of waiting for structured database extracts. That is exactly where Tekst works.

According to the report, Tekst uses process and task mining to turn enterprise emails, chats, documents and spreadsheets into structured operational data. Its agents analyse, prioritise and automate incoming requests, integrating with ERP and CRM systems.

Gartner® notes that Tekst focuses on high-value processes such as order management and quote-to-cash, where teams automatically process orders, update cases and validate attachments without changing their existing software.

Gartner® points to customer service directors and shared service centres handling large volumes of unstructured requests as the teams who should care.

Why this matters

Klaas Willaert, Head of Marketing at Tekst, leads the company's analyst relations programme with Gartner.

"Gartner®'s process intelligence analysts are the Federer and Nadal of our field," says Klaas.

For Klaas, the timing of the report matters as much as the recognition itself. "Every enterprise is trying to make AI work right now, and most are finding out that the models aren't the bottleneck. Context is. Gartner® is saying clearly that process intelligence is the layer that provides that context. Being named in that story confirms we're building the right thing, at the right moment."

This is only the beginning

For Servaas Strobbe, Head of Product at Tekst, the report puts words to the conviction the product was built on.

"Traditional process mining looks at the ERP and sees the clean version of a process," says Servaas. "But the real work happens outside of those systems: the customer who sends an order as a PDF, the change request buried in a reply, the exception someone handles by email. Gartner® calls it conversational dark space. We call it where our customers spend their day."

Gartner's analysis also names what makes this hard: handling sensitive communication data responsibly, and staying accurate across languages and messy email threads. Servaas sees those as the core of the product rather than side issues.

"Those are exactly the problems worth solving. That's why we build with human-in-the-loop from the start, and why we focus on processes like order management and quote-to-cash, where accuracy is measurable and every improvement shows up in the numbers."

Looking ahead, he sees Tekst as the context layer for AI agents. "Agents need to know how a process really runs before they can run it. If you don't capture what happens in email and documents, you're automating guesswork."
